For our 4^th event we travelled to Nizels for the Anniversary Cup. 19 players competing on a day of showers and sunny spells.  The course was in good condition; however the golf was very inconsistent, perhaps a reflection of the weather conditions.  The golf was followed by the usual banter and an excellent steak pie, mash and peas.

A day dominated by quick greens, gusty showers and quite a bit of water and sand.  The individual stableford competition saw only 5 players get 30 or more points.  The prestigious Anniversary Cup was won by Joe Carroll, with Scot Wightman narrowly missing out on countback.  Both scoring an excellent 37 points, with 2 blobs each, which will result in a cut for them both.  Some new nicknames emerging for Andy Williams for his sand excursions (Rommell) and Rob Montague for his low cutters (Barnes Wallace).  Rob Weavers was let down by his putter which contributed to 5 putts for at least 5 holes and maybe more!

The average score for the day was a low 26.95 which is consistent to the last 3 rounds (27, 27.04, 26.95) and there were only 3 birdies achieved.

For the team game the winners were Jerry Watkiss, Tony Willmott, Joe Carroll and Kelvin Patterson.  They were closely followed by Peter Alfeiri, Kevin Leftley and Scot Wightman.
