Scott Wightman wins the Mayfield Cup with 41 points on just his second appearance with the MGS

IMG_0670

A fabulous day in terms of the turnout and the weather for our trip to the seaside.  Light winds stripped the course of its main defence allowing some very good scoring to take place on this popular course with the membership.

A good field of 28 competed for the Mayfield trophy in only its second year of being competed for. Scott Wightman fended off very strong rounds from Messrs Bond, Collingwood, Bigley, Miller & Smith (S) winning the day with 41 stableford points.

Alan Bigley should be mentioned with a gross 74 round which is just 2 over par – 3 birdies, 11 pars, 3 bogies and a double bogie made up his card – I fail to do that well in my dreams!
