Dyke Results
Mark Hughes with 41 stableford points playing off a handicap of just 14 wins the October 2016 competition at the Dyke golf course
Our lowest turnout for over two years enjoyed a very pleasant day of golf at the Dyke golf course on the South Coast. The course was in very good condition with the greens both fast and true. Ten players battled it out for the prizes with the results as follows:-
Individual Stableford
Place | Individual | Score |
Winner | Mark Hughes | 41 |
Second | Dereck Coppard | 38 |
Third | Alan Bond | 36 |
Winner Longest Drive (Hole 16th): Micky Mann
Winner Nearest the Pin (Hole 8th): Mark Hughes
Team Stableford Competition
With the winner and runner up in the individual competition playing in the same team the team result was inevitable and was won by some margin:-
Place | Team Members | Score |
Winners | Mark Hughes, Dereck Coppard & Brian Day | 86 |
Second | Alan Bond, Micky Mann & David Howroyd | 76 |
Third | Frank Goulding, Kelvin Paterson, Clive Butler 7 Steve Westwood (guest) | 74 |
The low attendance was probably down to a number of players having just been Bished and Tipstered on the Autumn Tour with a number of other regulars on holiday in various parts of the country and indeed abroad. Hopefully we will return to a good number with the GBH pair’s trophy which will be up for grabs at Lamberhurst Golf Club on the 18th November. A number of our MGS society members are also members at Lamberhurst and say the course is in fabulous condition. More details will follow nearer the time as always.
