Copthorne GC – 17 October 2024
A good turnout of 22 to a golf course we have not played that often. The weather forecast looks pretty good for this time of year and there could well be some shorts still being worn, although its possible forecast will probably change before Friday!
Our venue is Copthorne Golf Club and was founded in 1892, however the course today is a mixture of old and new holes. It measures a good 6,536 yards at its furthest, it offers an excellent challenge of 6,373 yards from the yellow tee boxes, with four par three holes and matching par fives. Heathland in style, this is one of Sussex’s unsung venues and host to important county and regional championships. The tree lined fairways and well maintained greens provide an engaging yet enjoyable test for all skill levels.

Time: 9am for 10am first tee off
Format: Tea/coffee + bacon rolls on arrival, followed by an 18 Hole Stableford and team competition, followed by a one course meal and presentation of prizes.
Dress for meal: Smart Casual

All scores count for the 6 teams of 3 and for the 1 x 4 ball a battleship card will be marked up.

Order of play
Tee times start at 10am – please be at the tee and ready to go 5 mins before your tee off time. Please keep up with the team in front and not aim to be just ahead of the group behind – Please do avoid slow play at all times – we should complete our rounds comfortably within 4 hours.
