MGS Christmas Bash 2024
Holtye Golf Course & Middle House
A different venue for the golf with the golf being an important part of the MGS Christmas offering based on the majority opinion of the membership. However, the weather between now and Friday is potentially a little wet so keep an eye out for golf updates on WhatsApp as we get nearer to Friday.
We have a smaller than anticipated field of just 20 for the golf with a couple more able to just make the Christmas lunch.
Holtye is a gem of a 9 Hole course set in the beautiful Sussex countryside. Excellent course management makes Holtye a good test of golf for the low handicap golfer as well as newcomers to the game. Ideal for a great round of social golf with your friends.

Competitions
Comp | Format |
Texas Scramble | All players on the team tee off on each hole. The team, or the designated team leader, decides which ball is in the best position for the second shot. Two drives from each player must be used. Once the chosen tee shot is confirmed, all team members will play from that spot. This process then repeats until the ball is in the hole. This is a team game, so all competing teams will return one score for each hole and one final score for the round. The team with the lowest score is the winner. |
Christmas Fun | Best hat/funny jumper on the day (Captain’s decision, no appeals) |
The all important order of play for Friday is set out below. Please note the Team Captain will decide where the next shot is taken from should a unanimous decision prove difficult.
