The weather was very unkind to us with the first three or four holes, although not ideal, were playable before the heavens opened and the course became unplayable. However, the cast of 17 members made it to the 9th hole before calling it a day and returning to the clubhouse for a hot shower and a beverage or two.
The decisions made by the Hon Sec and the committee were the right ones although the choices were often choosing between the devil and the deep blue sea at times
The event therefore became a mini 9 hole competition with the results as follows:-

In terms of the individual competition the average score was a surprising 16.2 in very difficult conditions.
The result was were:-
Winner: Micky Mann – 22 points
RU: Carl Valentine 20 points
Third: Alan Bond & Brian Day – 19 points
The Nearest the Pin competition was won by Kevin Weaver with a beauty.
