Strokeplay Championship and Stapleford Shield Results at Westerham GC 17th July 2015

Count- back decides both competitions in tough golfing conditions at Westerham.

A good attendance with 18 registered players (plus Bishop) being split across these two prestigous competitions. On a gusty, challenging and tight golf course a number of players left their Driver in the bag and took a mid-iron or rescue club off most tees. The average nett score in the Stokeplay Championship was +2.57 with the field of players being separated by no more than 5 shots in a very tight competition which was probably decided over the last two holes! In the Stapleford Shield the average score was 29.72 reflecting the tough conditions. Both competitions had separate Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive competitions. The results are as follows:-

The Individual Strokeplay Championship was decided on back 9 count back as was the third and fourth place as follows:-

  • Winner: Kevin Weaver (a Nett 73 one over par)
  • Runner Up: Carl Valentine (a Nett 73 one over par)
  • Third Place: Clive Butler (a Nett 74 two over par)
