Wellshurst GC – Order of Play – June 2020

Picture 1

THE MOST IMPORTANT MATTER FOR THIS EVENT IS OUR SAFETY SO PLEASE DO READ CAREFULLY THE FOLLOWING:

In line with government Covid 19 outbreak guidelines we should adopt the following practices.  Our aim is to promote social distancing for all people, discouraging social interaction in the clubhouse and we will be looking for you to bring your own catering/ drinks for this event. Some ground rules for play:-

  • Arrive at the club in your golf gear, ready to tee off.
  • Keep a minimum distance of two metres, from your playing partners with no physical contact at any time (James & Kelvin please note)
  • We also recommend that members carry their own personal bottles of disinfectant with them in order to keep their hands disinfected whilst playing golf
  • All bunkers will be classified as GUR so as to save the need for members to handle bunker rakes during the course of their rounds.
  • We recommend that members do not use ballwashers (ohh err!) and refrain from touching stray tees and golf balls other than their own.
  • No golfers are to touch, remove or attend flag pins whilst playing golf.
  • Gimmies will be allowed within 18 inches (putter grip length or so) – common sense applies.

THE COURSE

Having been let down by our chosen course this month we are pleased to have secured at the last minute (nice one Captain James) some early afternoon tee times at Wellshurst GC. This course opened in July 1992, and is an 18 hole, 6084 yard, par 70 course situated in 150 acres of beautiful Sussex countryside.

Address:

North Street,
Hellingly,
East Sussex
BN27 4ED

Time:   Arrive in car park 15 mins before your tee off which commence from 1:10pm.

Format: Just 18 holes of golf bring your own food, drinks and snacks and clear off as soon as you can when your round is complete!!

We have a good field of 16 including some new faces Tony Coggill, Des Christian and Will Lunn amongst some old, or should I say familiar faces.  Two competitions as follows:

Individual Stableford

An 18-hole stableford competition playing off full MGS society handicaps.

Team Competition

As we are fourballs something different as we are just getting back in to the swing (see what I did there) of golf the best 2 stableford scores count on holes 1 to 6, best 3 scores on holes 7 to 12 and all four scores count on holes 13 to 18 for this team competition.

Nearest the Pin & Longest Drive

NO COMPETITION THIS TIME SORRY as it involves society members handling a marker (well just a couple of people in reality but I am sure you will understand)

Order of play

Please note you will need to collect from the clubhouse your own individual cards.  I have nominated a person below in yellow to keep the team score please.
