North Downs start list

Happy New Year and Decade one and all. Our first event of the New Year is at the North Downs golf course which is a parkland course set on the North Downs at between 800 and 850 feet above sea level, with spectacular views in all directions. The course is challenging and requires careful shot selection and accuracy to cope with the demands of the layout. The course was originally opened in 1899.

Time:9.30pm meet for 10.30 first tee off

Format: Tea/coffee + bacon rolls on arrival. One course meal to finish

Dress Code: Smart casual for the one course meal please (circa 3.30).

A good turnout of 14ish players, including a guest and potential new member Mr Nigel Burnett and an “occasional” guest Mr Ash Head who was a member and been associated with the society for many years now.

Individual Stableford Competition

18-hole stableford competition off full society handicaps.

Team Competition

The best 2 stableford scores from the teams of 3 count for this competition.  Normal adjustment for teams of 4.

Tee times start at 10.30pm.  We have 12 definite +2 TBC players – please be at the tee and ready to go 5 mins before your tee off time.  In addition, each group is respectfully requested to keep up with the team in front and not aim to be just ahead of the group behind - Please avoid slow play – we as a society aim as threeballs to complete our rounds comfortably within 4 hours.
