With a 1 over par 73 and accumulating a massive 45 points Alan Bigley wins the Individual Stableford at Nizels golf club in July

A good turnout of 20 on a day where we saw the unusual sight 15/20 mins of light rain on an otherwise very pleasant summers day.  The course was a stiff test but with the fairways parched by the recent hot weather saw an extra 20 to 30 yards on most drives on a day of very high scoring (a Seaford mark II day!!).  A course very much liked by the majority of members as it required some careful thought off each tee rather than just blasting a driver down the fairway – the greens were in excellent condition!

With five scores in the 40s the average for the day was by far the best of the year so far at 34.85. However, the day was tinged with sadness due to the recent loss of Brian Cheesmur a very keen society member and a friend of many.  He will be sadly missed – RIP Brian.

Individual Stableford

With a fantastic 45 points playing off 10 (I hasten to add not anymore !!) a very well-deserved win for Alan Bigley – with the lowest gross score by any member certainly for the last five years.  Worthy of some note that both the second and third scores would have won any other event since September 2017!!  Hard luck chaps!
