March Meeting – West Hove GC
DON’T FORGET THIS MEETING IS ON A THURSDAY
Founded in 1910, the Club was originally situated off the Old Shoreham Road on the boundary between Hove and Portslade. However, in 1991, the construction of the ‘Brighton by-pass’ meant the Club had to relocate. It can now be found off the A27 trunk road at the Hangleton Interchange. The ‘new’ Clubhouse and golf course are situated in the midst of the South Downs, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, and from 2010 they have been included within the South Downs National Park. The 18-hole golf course is laid out over rolling chalk downland and is a challenging par 70. Being in one of the warmest and driest parts of the country it is always mud free!!
We have a field currently of 15 players – not ideal – we really need one more so we can have 8 pairs competing. Any thoughts please on the WhatsApp group !

Competitions
The Mad March Jugs competition is a pairs Stableford competition played with a yellow ball counting double. The yellow ball is alternated between players on each hole with the “owner” able to score double points with it.
For the pairs competition the combined stableford score on each hole will count. NB: Player 1 has been nominated to have the yellow ball on the first hole scores 1 stableford point (the ball is not lost) so that players score doubles to 2 points. Their partner plays a blinder and gets 3 points with their normal chosen ball, so just their single score counts on that hole. The team score would be 5 points on that hole. I hope that is clear if not ask!!
