A group of 14 spent a fascinating and enlightening evening at the Harveys Brewery in Lewes on Tuesday night.

We were fortunate to be shown around by none other than the Joint Managing Director, Miles Jenner who is also Harvey’s Head Brewer.(see the videos below). His delivery was both absorbing and eloquent covering the history and the complexities of brewing beer which we all delighted in sampling later in the evening.

I’m sure we all came away enlightened by the experience and the next pint that passes our lips will taste all the better more for knowing the background to this very palatable tipple.

Our thanks go to David Howroyd for organising a fine evening and to his daughter Nic who for reasons best known to herself, volunteered to drive us there and back in the Scout minibus – a sterling effort for which we are most grateful.
