Our November meeting at Willingdon was memorable for unexpected – and unforecasted -fog. It got a little clearer in the lower parts of the course later, but for much of the time we were driving into impenetrable mist, relying on the memory of members who’d played there before to know which way to aim.

Kevin Hawkins drove towards the 5^thgreen on the tricky 12^th, but still managed a par 5!

Given these conditions, you’d expect course member Fred Ablitt to hold a great advantage, and come out on top – or near it. Alas not….

We were made very welcome at the club, and enjoyed an excellent 2 course meal after the round. Great value for money at £41, it’s just a pity you can’t buy better visibility.

Capn Butler made what he really believes this time will be his final appearance of the year, so was able to present the prizes. Here are the results:
