We are pleased to invite members to our year end showcase event. Established members will know that this is a very enjoyable, if bibulous occasion, and new members may have been warned! Conditions at Dewlands are likely to be what the horse racing community calls ’soft” ( though ‘rock hard’ with frost has been known, as has ’snowy’), so be prepared. An excellent Christmas lunch at the Middle House is then followed by the (often disorderly, though I’ll try and retain some degree of control) AGM, where members get to hear reports on the year, and vote on membership of the Committee for the following year.

Venue:    Dewlands Manor Golf Club, Cottage Hill, Rotherfield TN6 3JN. tel: 01892 852266 and The Middle House, High St, Mayfield

Date:   Friday 9 December 2022 

Format:           Nine hole Texas Scramble team event followed by nine hole individual Stableford for the Last Chance Trophy

Prizes:   Best hat/funny jumper/outfit on the day (Captain’s decision, no appeals) + the usual wine

Cost:      £50 per head. This event is subsidised by the Society

PLEASE KEEP MOVING ALONG on the course, not just in order to stay warm, but as we have a lot to fit in. We need to sit down at MH no later than 2:30pm. 

PROGRAMME for the day:

08:15  first group tee off first nine holes. There won’t be any of the usual bacon rolls to start, but you should be able to buy tea/coffee at check in. This is a turn up and play event, so look for your start times on the website

10:15 first group tee off for second nine holes. After completing the round, return home for showers/change, or use clubhouse facilities

14:00  gather in Middle House bar for pre dinner drinks

14:30 Christmas meal in the Brasserie restaurant.  Dress Code: jackets and ties

16:30  AGM

17:30  vacate restaurant. Adjourn to bar, then likely to the Rose and Crown
