Society Strokeplay Championship

For those players playing off a society handicap of 19 or less an 18-hole strokeplay competition off full society handicaps.

NB: Although not relevant for the day please also keep your stableford scores as they will count towards the player of the year competition (best four stableford scores across the year)

In line with the 2019 rule changes put in place to avoid slow play  will be adopted for the strokeplay competition the following local society rules.

Maximum Score: a maximum score of 4 over par will be used by the society in strokeplay competitions so a “pick up” on a par 3 would be recorded as a 7 and on a par 5 as a 9 etc.  Aimed at avoiding slow play.

Alternative to stroke and distance: This gives golfers the option of dropping the ball in the vicinity of where the ball is lost or out of bounds (including the nearest fairway area), under a two-stroke penalty.

Society Stableford Championship

For those players playing off a society handicap of 20 or more an 18 hole stableford competition off full society handicaps.

Team Competition

The best 2 stableford scores from the teams of 3 count for this competition.  The usual adjustment being made for the fourball(s).

Nearest the Pin and Rope/ Longest Drive to be confirmed – probably not viable as it would involve touching a marker!!

Tee times start at 11.36am.  We have 17 confirmed players – please be at the tee and ready to go at least 5 mins before your tee off time.  In addition, each group is respectfully requested to keep up with the team in front and not aim to be just ahead of the group behind – Please avoid slow play at all times.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Bunkers will be in play but the ball can be placed in the bunker to give a preferred lie.  However, members should not rake bunkers but do their best with their club to smooth things out where they can.
