Kevin Hawkins with a nett -2 wins the Society Strokeplay Championship
Andy Tippet with 42 points wins the Society Stableford Shield
An excellent turnout of 22 on a favourite course of the society with a stiff wind protecting the course and making a number of holes a tough test of golf. The weather was good with the sun on our backs and started with us having a drink and a bacon roll on the veranda with the amusing event of seeing Pat’s half eaten bacon roll being stolen from his hand by a very brave and large seagull.
The society welcomed Mr Chris Paterson (guest) to his first MGS event and to Tom Bennett, Barry Browning, Chris Buck & Pat Layen attending their first monthly meeting of the year. The society found the course in good shape with the average score being a very solid 32.36. Twenty- two players battling it out for the Society Strokeplay Championship and the Society Stableford Shield.
Cooden GC hosted us very well, ensuring our shirts were tucked in for the commencement of play, with the day ending in a very good two course meal.
