Alan Bigley with an excellent round of golf with a nett 2 over par wins the Society Strokeplay Championship;  with Tom Bennett edging out Graham Meadows on count-back with 34 points to win the Society Stableford Shield

A good turnout of 18, including a warm welcome to James Harding the guest of our newest member Johhny Miller on what was a lovely summers day enjoyed on the East Course at the East Sussex National.  The course was in excellent conditions with slick greens and lush rough to frustrate and also entertain the society. The average stableford score of just 27.78 reflected a tough and long course.  The weather was hot with a few of us wilting and a little pink in colour by the end and needing a cold pint for medicinal replenishing fluid reasons.

Captain James announced the shield winners as follows:

The next monthly meeting is Captains Day at Bletchingly GC on the 20th August –– full details nearer the time.  Hopefully we will attract 20+ players to support Captain James with the prestigious Freddie Jones Foundation Cup at stake – should be a fun event.
