Alan Bond wins the Last Chance Trophy
Alan Bond wins the Last Chance Trophy on his home course with a very impressive 24 points over 9 holes.
The “Christmas Fun Event” at Dewlands Manor saw 23 players battle it out for various prizes. The weather was not as good as forecast suggested earlier in the week with play commencing in a cold light drizzle. Indeed, the car park and roads were a little icy where the drizzle had hit the cold overnight ground. The average stableford score in the individual competition was a very good 16.0 points.
It was also really good to see Ash Head and Ray Hamilton out on the course who have been staunch supports of the society for many years.
An early morning started with a nine-hole Texas Scramble which saw some good golf with the winning team going around in level par. Following a bogey on the 5th a stunning 20 ft. putt from James Gallifant to birdie the 8th made all the difference.
