We are very pleased to at last be able to invite you to the first MGS Meeting since October. Whilst many courses have for the moment, and understandably, given members priority over societies, Dale Hill have very kindly honoured our booking. And as it’s for the Woosnam Course, we have a top class and challenging terrain to get us underway again.
Here are the details:
Venue: Dale Hill Golf Club, Ticehurst,
Wadhurst, E Sussex TN5 7DQ
Tel: 01580 200112 www.dalehill.co.uk
Date: Friday 16 April 2021
Time: 11:30 for 12:00 first tee off
Format: Tea/coffee + bacon rolls on arrival, 18 hole Stableford individual and team competitions
Cost: £35 per head
Please confirm your ability to attend asap by message to email@example.com and by close of business Monday 12 April latest, and transfer payment into the club account.
We have 6 tee slots reserved, and are playing fourballs. Whilst it’s unlikely we’ll exceed this cap of 24, it’s difficult to assess the pent up demand, so it may be best to get your confirmation in soon. Given current restrictions, there will be no meal to finish, but we can have drinks afterwards, and may be able to manage some sort of suitably distanced brief prizegiving. We’ve allowed just 1/2hr before the start, to avoid a big crowd, so coffees etc will be on a rolling basis from 11:30.
Given the late start to the season, and that we believe Society finances ended last year in a healthy state, subs this year will be just £20. Please pay this with your entry fee, adjusted if you have paid already. Treasurer Tips says there were quite a few of what he calls ‘dangling balances’ at the end of last year, so he will produce a schedule of members who don’t have clean slates. I’m tempted to suggest that if you have dangling balances, you’re unlikely to have a clean slate, but…
We’re really looking forward to getting the group back together after all the tribulations of the past year, so do try and join us for the start of what we trust will be a gradual (and irreversible, as has been said) return to normality. Captain James has had his thespian urgings frustrated in recent times, so he’ll no do doubt be planning to put on a good turn for us at Dale Hill.
